Traction Family

BENSALEM

Bensalem Ewing Willingboro Delaware
Joe O'Donnell Jr., better known as Uncle Joe is one of the two owners of Traction Tire. To put it simply, which is Uncle Joe's style, he started Traction Tire because he saw need and a way to incorporate his love of Cars with his desire to help people. .
Uncle Joe knows the value of being humble and tries to share that lesson with all his employees. In his spare time he can be found enjoying his family, boating or fishing.
Joe truly loves Traction, from the memory of Bill Murray's infectious smile to all the silly times he has had such as the time he watched George Graff try to get out of an elevator shaft. If Uncle Joe had to pick one thing as the best part of Traction he would say the people.
This Fallsington Pa resident is the proud father of two boys and two girls. He is also happily married and enjoys having his home as the site of the yearly company picnic. Joe mows, "Our employees and customers are our greatest asset."
Jeff Cohen started Traction in 1985 with Joe O'Donnell. Jeff started Traction to make a great difference in the tire market; Jeff has a hand in it all, from sales and purchasing to marketing and hiring. He fondly remembers the day that all administration was moved to Bensalem and he got a cooler office.
Jeff knows the value of family and keeps his family involved in the business. There was one time he had one of his two sons helping to unload a truck and his son said to him, "One day I will invent cars that don't use tires."
Jeff is a proud family man. He has been married for 32 years and both of his sons are in the military. Jeff loves music and when he is not rocking out while working he is at home rocking out while farming, cutting wood, or riding his motorcycle, and of course he rides on nothing less than Eldorado.
This hard worker lives and breathes tires; he knows firsthand the horrid smell that tires have. He is a true example of hard work as he tells everyone, "The harder I worked, the luckier I got."
Good ole Allen Mott came to Traction as the general manager in 2002 and claims to have enjoyed every moment of it. The very first day set the tone for his time at Traction, when he slipped on the ice and luckily no one saw proving that while Allen may seem perfect at times, he knows and is willing to admit that he is far from it.
Allen chose Traction based on one thing, the morals of Jeff and Joe; the owners. He soon learned that his fellow coworkers and customers were a huge part of making Traction what it is. Allen agrees that people should not only work to get money but do something that makes them happy, he says, "Life is too short to be unhappy."
When Mr. Mott is not pushing his sales reps to the extreme, or having sound system competitions with Jeff. He spends his free time working out, playing golf or enjoying his family. And what kind of tires gets him from place to place, you many wonder, but none other than Hankook.
Always the go-to-girl for sweets, Linda Ferraro is just about as sweet as the bowl of candies on her desk! She became a valuable addition to our Accounting department back in October of 2009 after Heather was lucky enough to sway her into joining the Traction family.
At work Linda handles anything that is thrown in her direction (including hard candies at her head from Liz!) with a great attitude and sense of humor. She'll just laugh and say something like "Really?..... Seriously?" But when she's not busy being Queen of Checking Credit References, she enjoys spending quality time with her husband, 10 grand-children, and twin sister. This YOUNG grand-mother is always willing to lend a helping hand and is only happy if her work is done right. Her warm enthusiasm to all co-workers makes Linda an absolute pleasure to work with.
Every company has a few of those bubbly people that everyone loves to talk to in the afternoon but find much too happy for the morning. Alishia Cohen is one of those people who will brighten your day. The bubbly young lady likes to take pictures, watch movies, and examine her friends' and family's tires in her down time. Her last name is no coincidence; the tire business runs through her veins.
She chose Traction Tire, to be part of the family business and proves every day that it was a smart decision. She drives in style with Vredestein Quatrac 3s on her vehicle. Although small she has stories about doing tough work with tires. She loves to use exclamation marks and respond to bad ideas with a, "How about NO0000!!!"
Famous for the "Best Smile at Traction Wholesale" and being our "Little Miss Sunshine" is our Human Resources Administrator, Heather Bintliff . Being a longtime friend of the family, Jeff Cohen brought her to Traction as an intern during the summer of 2004. It turned out Jeff and Joe were quite impressed with her work ethic and decided to offer her a full-time position! With much gratitude, Heather accepted the offer in June of 2006 and has remained a tremendous asset to the company ever since!
She loves working in the fun, family atmosphere that Traction radiates. Heather's co-workers can't help but notice her positive attitude, beautiful smile, her sing-song good mornings, and infectious hearty laugh! When this HR girl isn't busy on the job, she likes to unwind by spending some QT with her family, especially her beautiful niece, or going into the city for dinner, drinks and dancing with the great group of friends she holds dear. Being a proudly proclaimed "perfectionist" her attention to detail remains unmatched. Heather is without a doubt, a significant part of the glue that holds Traction together.
A long time ago back in the time of Trolley cars and wooden toys Gary Blum was born in Levittown Pa. He grew up enjoying the same past times that he does today, Bowling and watching football. He never played because he was just too small although he has the appetite of a sumo wrestler.
Gary eventually married and produced two smaller versions of his self. Gary started working at Traction as an on the road salesmen but worked his way up to store manager then inside sales where he is quite pleased to see the same people every day. He enjoys company picnics where his fondest memory is watching a plus sized employee fall into a lake, out of a canoe.
When it comes to tires, Gary rides on the Hankook tires that came with his Chevy Colbalt, however he looks forward to the day when he can replace them with Hankook
Rocker girl at heart, Elizabeth Krausz is a force to be reckoned with! She may be beautiful and appear rather tiny but whatever you do - DO NOT let that fool you. She will hunt you down and eat you alive if you forget to pay your bill! So pay up or this fierce collections cutie will be unleashed and instead of blood she's going for the green stuff! Over the heavy metal music pumping through her computer speakers on the regular, you can surely catch that contagious laugh of hers echoing throughout the Accounting Department.
Elizabeth has a special way with words so if you happen to get the pleasure of speaking with her, make sure to spark up a conversation which is sure not to disappoint. On top of that, she is a one-of-a-kind person that always puts her heart into her work and the people she cares about. She has two children, Liz and Jake, whom she would do anything for and lovingly referrers to them as "Little Bastards". Elizabeth says she'll never forget the almost two hour long job interview with Jeff and Allen because it was so easy to talk with both of them. Thankfully for that, she was swayed to accept a sales position and later brought over to Accounts Receivable. Elizabeth has now been a part of our Traction family since 2006 and we could not imagine it any other way!
Janice Sullivan decided in July of 2007 to come to Traction to be one of the Famous Sales Reps. Here at Traction she finds she has lots in common with everyone. She has a passion for music, reading books and cooking. While she works in a place of 7,1 Jokesters and Pranksters it is a not a complete day without .1-hearing her say "You've got to be kidding!"
After learning all there is to know about tires, she proves she knows what she wants by driving on only Vredestein Wintrac Xtremes.
Joe McGinley came to Traction Tire from another tire distributor in 2006. Traction's philosophy of how to treat customers attracted Joe& considers it a win -win situation. In the tire industry since early 90's Joe catches himself looking at people's tires no matter where he is or what he's doing. Joe is an avid cyclist. Also stays fit by playing ultimate Frisbee. And organizes an adult , co-ed slow pitch , pick-up softball game on Sunday. Several other Traction employees also play.
Justin Schneider was born to the fast life in Brooklyn New York. When he found himself married with two kids he decided to relocate for a job at Traction. The family atmosphere is what keeps Justin coming back day after day.
When Justin is not shouting "Ding fries are done," or entertaining the office, he can be found playing with his sons, fixing his car or playing softball. When not in his local town of Levittown PA he can be found trying to blend in with the best of south Philadelphia. Justin loves the annual fishing trips and has lots of stories about them.
Justin has learned that tires are no small issue; he has seen the benefits that some automotive companies reaped while others missed out. No matter what time of day it is Justin's pleasant side will come out long enough for him to say "I Say good day."
Mark Quatrone may have been a well behaved child, but all who work with him knows him as the office clown. He grew up in the great city of Philadelphia. He eventually married and moved to New Jersey.
He loves the family atmosphere that Traction Tire has to offer and feels quite comfortable doing his many impressions of Al Pacino from Scar Face and singing random lines from classic songs.
Mark enjoys spending time with family and friends, many of which are fellow employees. He also enjoys sports and traveling but not as much as good cuisine. Mark lives by one rule, "Respect everyone and fear no one."
Robin Young was born right near Traction's Ewing location. She was attracted to the company by her brother in law, in July of 2000 and has been here ever since.
She is currently married with two kids and has relocated to Levittown PA. Her past times are scrap booking and reading books about tires. She is a loyal employee as she feels only Mastercraft is the way to go for her vehicle. It is her fellow employees' funny moments that kept Robin at Traction, such as the time Denise had a Coffee stirrer stuck in her glasses, unknown to her, for most of the day. Robin is known for saying, "So anyway," her love of the color pink and addiction to fresh coffee.
RJ also known as Ruben came to Traction May of 2000 as a driver, but quickly became the Amazing sales rep that he is today. He grew up in North PhiIly and decided to start his family there.
RJ knows the area well and advises our drivers to the fastest delivery routes.
His past times include riding ATVs, drag racing, and relaxing by fishing with the kids. He loves his Vredestein tires almost as much as his 22 inch rims. He is always quick to say, "It is what is."
Dan Brown is our on the road sales rep for PA & DE. He has been with Traction for over one year now. He came to us after 8years of Loss Prevention Agent, stopping external and internal theft, for major brands.
He has always been a car guy (as you see him driving his 97 skyline imported from Japan) but made a career change to Traction to learn all the Business has to offer...
Fred Weidner came to Traction Tire March 2007. He was attracted to the type of work he was offered, delivering tires. He is happy with his decision to come to Traction; he enjoys the camaraderie among his fellow drivers and the knowledge he has gained about speed ratings and countries that produce tires.
When Fred is not assisting Traction in shot gunning tires to our customers, he can be found enjoying a good book, doing house work or relaxing in front of the TV. Fred is known for saying, "Traction is number 1 for tires." he proves this by driving on nothing less than Mastercraft tires.
George R Piscitelli Jr., came to Traction March 2008 as one of our valiant drivers for the Bensalem location. He chose Traction for its close vicinity to his house. He, like many of his fellow employees, finds that the reason for coming back every day is all lit the people he gets to work with every day. George dotingly remembers the first delivery he ever did for Traction. The best part of his job aside form actually doing work, is swapping stories with other coworkers.
George likes to go camping or watching NASCAR. Everyone knows George to be a good guy but when he says, "I didn't do it" we do get a little suspicious.
John J Turner was born to drive, just ask his wife. After John retired and started driving her crazy, she convinced him to get a job driving something else. Once john was driving one of Traction's delivery trucks the rest was history. He did so well that it was no time before he was training others. His fondest memory was training George. John loves the people he works with and values staying busy, John is always the first to say, "If there is no work then send me home."
When not at work John spends his free time enjoying the company of his 5 children, playing golf or traveling but his favorite past time is doting over his lovely wife.
John fondly remembers the time that Mario proved that he knew the warehouse better than anyone, by telling john without hesitation where each tire was stored in the warehouse.
Serif Ulusoy came to Traction when he heard Mr. Opportunity knocking in June of 2007. Little did he know how great the opportunity would be? After two days of training for his job as Transfer Driver, work was a piece of cake. He was surprised to learn how there are several generic tire brands that are just as good as the top four but cost far less. He has found working at Tractions does not feel like work at all. He fondly remembers playing soft ball -and the time someone came to work in a Halloween costume to scare Robin.
Serif is a single gentleman who likes to go for long drives, ride his mountain bike, relax with his dog and enjoy hockey. He currently resides in Northeast Philadelphia and prefers Goodyear tires to all others. Serif gets serious at times and you can tell it's one of those times when he says, "I came to kick ass and chew bubble gum, and I am all out of bubble gum."
Luis Maldonado is a diamond in rough full of positive energy & a big heart too. Always happy & tries to make you smile too. His colleagues think he is quite the character! Tough guy outside but the sweetie inside. He would do whatever he could for you.
Derek Unfried is the assistant manager at the Bensalem location for Traction Tire. He has worked his way up from driver, working in the warehouse, then to his current position. He has learned everything about tires thanks to Traction Tire and has found he likes Vredestein Ultracs for his vehicle. He has made many great memories at the company picnics.
On his down time he can be found watching sports and drinking Craft Beer. He always says, "Good people drink good beer."
Mario Aivares is the little lovable warehouse worker in the Bensalem location. He currently pulls tires for the deliveries. He came to Traction Tire March 2004 and has found that his fellow employees are more like a second family then just people he works with.
When not at home he spends his free time reading about his home country of Guatemala, listening to music, studying for his GED and playing soccer, sometimes he is the soccer ball. He has learned about all the different brands of tires while working at Traction and prefers the Vredestein Utrac Sessanta's for his big wheel.
Mike Bartasavge is the quiet warehouse worker in Bensalem. He chose Traction based on close proximity to his residence and is happy with his decision as he gets to work with some of the greatest people every day.
Mike lives a quiet life in the town of Croydon, Pa. He is currently divorced but has two kids. He loves the color blue, collecting baseball cards, fishing and golfing.
Pedro Aivares is the nephew of Mario and of course chose Traction to be like his awesome uncle. Pedro works in the r warehouse and enjoys many of the same things as his uncle including soccer and reading. He is even going for his GED.
